Tillage is built on the idea that musicians should feel safe sharing unfinished work. That means being clear about what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we don't do with it. This policy covers the Tillage mobile app and website.
1. What We Collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Account creation and sign-in |
| Username and bio | Your public profile on the platform |
| Profile photo | Optional — displayed on your profile and seeds |
| Audio recordings | Your seeds and stems — stored and streamed within the app |
| Device push token | To send you notifications about your seeds and collaborations |
| Likes, bookmarks, comments | To power the collaborative features of the app |
| Usage activity | Basic in-app actions (seeds planted, stems given) for your profile stats |
We do not collect location data, contacts, or any data beyond what's listed above.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To operate the app and provide its features
- To send push notifications about your seeds and collaborations (you can disable these in your device settings)
- To display your public profile and content to other users
- To improve the platform based on how it's used
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in section 3.
3. Third-Party Services
Tillage uses the following services to operate:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and audio file storage. Data is stored on servers in the EU (Ireland). Supabase Privacy Policy
- Expo / EAS — app build and push notification delivery. Expo Privacy Policy
These providers process data only as necessary to provide the services above and are bound by their own privacy policies.
4. Audio Content
Audio recordings you upload are stored securely and streamed only within the Tillage app. Your recordings are not used for any purpose other than displaying them to other users of the platform as you intended. You can delete your seeds and recordings at any time from within the app.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings
- Delete your account and all associated data — contact us at hello@tillage.live and we'll process this within 30 days
- Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via your device settings
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data, profile, and audio files are permanently deleted. Content that forms part of a sealed collaborative seed (where other users have contributed) may be retained as part of that collaborative work — you'll be notified before account deletion if this applies.
7. Children
Tillage is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us and we'll remove the account promptly.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices: HTTPS everywhere, encrypted storage, and row-level security on our database so users can only access their own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect yours.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
10. Contact
Questions about privacy? Reach us at hello@tillage.live. We'll respond within a few days.
The short version: your music is yours, we don't sell your data, and we only collect what we need to make the app work.
